Silver Scooter was a band from Austin, TX. Their singer now plays under the moniker Super XX Man, which is a pretty dumb name.

Rocky Votolato is a singer/songwriter from Seattle and the former singer of Waxwing. My friend dated his sister for a while.

#29: The New Year

The New Year is the “new” band (now 10 years old) from the main guys of Bedhead, one of my all-time favorite bands. Lucky for us, they don’t try that much new stuff with this new band.

#28: The Advantage

An instrumental NES cover band on a video game website; sounds like a match made in heaven, right? Right.

#27: The Juliana Theory

The Juliana Theory released three lousy albums and one halfway good album with some really excellent tracks. And really bad album art.

#26: Shearwater

Shearwater is the former side project (now main project) of former Okkervil River member Jonathan Meiburg. Each of their albums are good for their own reasons.

#25: Okkervil River

Yo. Okkervil River is one of my favorite bands. Listen. Recognize.

#24: Meredith Bragg and The Terminals

Meredith Bragg is a singer/songwriter from Washington DC who has released two hushed, overlooked albums over the past few years.

#23: Phantom Planet

Phantom Planet was a band that featured Jason Schwartzman on drums for a while, as well as having a song featured as The O.C.’s theme song. They went on “indefinite hiatus” last year.

#22: Kings of Leon

Kings of Leon are a well-known Southern rock band whose second album is pretty damn good.

#21: Owen

Owen is the solo project of Mike Kinsella, former member of American Football, Joan of Arc, The Owls, and Cap’n Jazz.

#20: John Vanderslice

Twentieth episode! That calls for a celebration, so I had my good friend Fred provide the narrative to this week's feature. You may recognize Fred as the guy who says "Threevue.com" before every episode of the feature. I figured I would give him some time in the spotlight this week, since he takes time out of his busy day every week to say "Threevue.com" for us. And he's never late.

John Vanderslice, former MK Ultra frontman, is an excellent singer/songwriter and one of the main inspirations for my own music.

This week we’ll be talking about the Washington-based band The Microphones, headed by Phil Elvrum, which has had several other band names (Mount Eerie, Phil Elvrum, etc). Their most well-known album, The Glow Pt. 2, was reissued last year.
